Blogathon Workspace, 6:00 PM

The next few posts will be a series of topics, features and interviews with Hard of Hearing professionals

I had featured a few Hard of Hearing professionals from CHHA and HLAA (Hearing Loss Association of America) earlier this morning.

I’d now like to introduce:

TracksCurtis Les, President, Young Adult Network, CHHA

Curtis was born and raised in beautiful Chilliwack, BC.  Curtis had
meningitis when he was 22 months old which resulted in a bilateral severe to profound hearing loss.

He went to preschool at the BC Family Hearing Resource Centre and then attended Timothy Christian School in Chilliwack as a mainstreamed student until graduating in 2002.  Curtis completed post-secondary education at the University of the Fraser Valley, graduating in 2007 with a Degree in Computer Information Systems. He is currently employed as an Onsite Computer & Network Specialist for Accenture.

Curtis has been involved with the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association since his parents helped to start the CHHA BC Parents’ Branch.  He has made many friends and memories with CHHA and continues to be involved in the Young Adults Network.

He enjoys skiing, golf, reading & movies and currently lives in Vancouver.

Coming up next.. Questions on Captioned Telephone, technologies, what companies can do for their hard of hearing employees, coping mechanisms etc. Interview with Dennis Selznick, Product Innovation Manager of a Telecommunications Company in the US.
